Where are a few chemicals of real value in the treatment of iron in the water?
Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Hydroxide, Calcite , Aqua stab, swimming pool chemicals, Siliphos or the inline chlorinator and more.

Sodium Hypochlorite for Iron treatment is not really effective.
This product is been used with the DMI 65 iron removal media.
The chemical is been added to the water supply just before the water flow through the media.
This is due to the information that people get on how to use the DMI 65 correctly.
The time that the chemical is exposing to the water is not long enough.
The time that any chemical is exposing to the water and elements is very important.
The water colour become like a urine colour.
The iron is not oxidized properly.
Look to the photo with sodium hypochlorite.
You will notice the colour of the water.
Please take a look to the solids at the bottom of the bottle.

Sodium Hydroxide for Iron treatment is in my view effective for the oxidation of the iron that is present in the water.
The Sodium Hydroxide is added in the first water tank with the help of a dosing pump.
The water is then circulated to ensure that the iron gets oxidized into a solid state.
The time that the sodium hydroxide is long sand that is the ideal process.
That will cause the iron that is in a solid state can be collected by the media.
Birm is been used most of the time with the application of sodium hydroxide.
Please look to the water in the bottle that has sodium hydroxide added.
You will notice that the water is clear and the solids that is at the bottom of the bottle.
Siliphos for Iron treatment in water.
Siliphos for Iron treatment in water is not effective.
It is expensive and in my view a waste of money.
Sales people in shops like to provide this stuff to their clients.
Please don’t waste your money.
Rather get your information from water treatment specialised.

Chlorine for Iron treatment in water is not effective in the long run.
Why do I say that?
You must add the chlorine media in the inline chlorinator.
This result in the release of high levels of the chemical in the water.
Most of the time when I visit a site where the inline chlorinator is been in use I found that there is a major problem.
This problem takes time to manifest.
The chlorine corrodes the copper pipes as well as the galvanised pipes.
If you are prepared to replace all the pipes in the house it would be good to make use of the inline chlorinator. I will not make use of this product.
I advise the clients to get rid of the inline chlorinator.
